What to Expect at the Riverwalk
Along the west branch of the DuPage River is almost two miles of serene walking paths for you to enjoy. While walking the path, stop to check out the various fountains like the Dandelion Fountain. This fountain is actually shaped like a dandelion and is surrounded by flowers and near a covered bridge. Or you might enjoy resting beside the Horse Trough Fountain at White Plaza. It is easy to find, just look for a large black fountain shaped like a horse trough.
While strolling along the riverwalk, you will also want to take time to see the Shanower Memorial. This memorial is an amazing tribute to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attack. You will find yourself gazing at the wall with 140 faces molded into it as you read how the Naperville school children were very active in creating this memorial.
The riverwalk also includes parks where you can enjoy a picnic or just sit and gaze at the stars on your evening walk.
Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House
After your walk, you will want to enjoy a great dinner at a restaurant along the Riverwalk. Hugo’s is the perfect place to enjoy seafood such as frog legs, shrimp and grits, fresh oysters, or grilled fish tacos. If you prefer something more filling, try the salmon or the Togarashi crusted tuna. If seafood is not your choice of food, Hugo’s has plenty of salads and steaks to satisfy your taste buds. Hugo’s is also known for its excellent wines and desserts.
