March 20th marked the beginning of spring! Naperville is ready to get you outside to enjoy the warming weather. In fact, the city is known to host several events to bring in the new season. Here’s a look at a few upcoming Naperville spring festivals and events in April to celebrate!
Weed Ladies Spring and Summer Floral Sale
Start the month off with the Spring and Summer Floral Sale hosted by the Weed Ladies. On April 4th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., head over to the Historic Daniels House at the Naper Settlement. There, you’ll browse a variety of seasonal floral arrangements created by a group of passionate florists and enthusiasts.
The Weed Ladies specialize in dried and silk flowers that benefit the Naperville Heritage Society.
Holi – The Festival of Colors
Each year, India celebrates the shift from winter to spring with Holi, the Festival of Colors. Naperville brings this tradition to Illinois with their very own festival on April 6th starting at 11 a.m.
Join the Vedic Cultural Society at the Grand Pavilion – Riverwalk in downtown Naperville to douse yourself in (safe!) organic flour, dyed every color of the rainbow. Stick around for traditional dance performances and music as well as classic vegetarian dishes from India.
2019 Naperville Women’s Half Marathon & 5K
Finally, this year’s Naperville Women’s Half Marathon & 5K will start at 7 a.m. on April 28th. Female runners of all abilities are encouraged to participate by walking or running at the Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium at North Central College. By registering online, you can get a t-shirt and finisher medal, as well as complimentary food, drinks, and entertainment after the race!
Although men cannot take part in the race, they’re welcome to come and support the women of their community in raising awareness for women’s health.
In addition to hosting fun events and festivals, Naperville is a wonderful city to live in. Contact us to learn more about our community at River Run at Naperville. We would love to show you around!Back to all posts
